An artistic village built on the ruins of an abandoned medieval hamlet, it stands out on a sinuous hill behind Sanremo giving an evocative and unreal image of itself.
In 1887, a violent earthquake struck the Sanremo hinterland, seriously damaging Bussana Vecchia. The village was abandoned. The village was abandoned.

Today, Bussana Vecchia is home to workshops and art and craft workshops of all kinds, from jewellery to handicrafts, from design to botany. The village has come back to life, surrounded by a very special atmosphere that attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Getting there is simple, you have to take the Statale Aurelia (SS1) towards Sanremo, turn at the junction for Bussana, follow the signs for Bussana Vecchia.
